Hi Hitchen Hand, , herbs' use as a savoury or aromatic addition in cookery would seem to rule out tobacco, though I wonder how it would go as a "smoking" agent. Tea of course is used as a smoking agent as well as a flavouring agent, eg. tea soaked prunes, so would have more claim than tobacco, however, even given these uses, I reckon coriander beats them hands down.

I'm guessing cilantro. It's common in Eastern and South East Asia as well as the Inidan Sub continent and central America.
What constitutes a herb? Would it include camellia sinsensis - tea - for example? Or tobacco? They're both aromatic leaves.

I would have guessed parsley though take it from aboe that the answer is corainder?
