Pearl Mangoes
Look at these gorgeous beauties.
If only my camera had enough pixies or what not, you would be instantly caught up in their colours; the luminous burnt orange, yellow and bright green, much more vivid than what you can see here.
If Henri Matisse were still alive, an artist known for colour, he could have captured their tropical jungle palette, then drowned in their sweet, fragrant juiciness and lusty flavour.
Pearl mangoes, look out for them. Almost too good to eat.

They look too good to eat, don’t they? My MIL ate all three during our Chinese New Year celebration. Who said that we need sweets and cakes to celebrate when these mangoes are so perfect to end the meal?
Hi anh, yes they do and the good thing is the flavour matches the promise. For me, they are better than Pride of Kensington. Your MIL obviously has impeccable taste!
They are truly more beautiful than the mango sitting on my kitchen counter this morning. It's been trying to ripen for more than a week, which is some indication of how far it's traveled, and under what conditions (near freezing, perhaps).
I am currently eating mangoes right now. And pearl mangoes to be exact with shrimp paste. And it's funny to read your blog with this post. Always nice to stop by here :)
Hi lydia, sadly, Pearl mangoes are the last of the season, I think they are to remind us of the season thats been.
Hi joanie, I sure hope you post about that. I'm waiting!
