Who Me?
M is away tonight for her first ever sleepover. Last night she was so excited that she couldn't get to sleep; we heard her singing and clapping her hands. I'm not sure what she will get up to, but she won't want for company, A has five brothers and sisters. D has said she is missing her all ready, it will be the first time in six years that M will not wake up with us.
I'm excited for her and happy that she is so looking forward to it, but maybe I'm a bad parent because I know that I can lie in tomorrow and the other thing is we have lost our little lever. All this week M has been extra good because one of us might have said "If you want to go to A's house...."
Bad, bad parent!!!

Lost your lever - I'm sure there will be another soon enough. How is that a bad parent? I think it's a good parent who is with it enough to identify those little levers.
So, I say good, good parent!!! Enjoy your sleep in!!
Levers are a parents best friend!!
How exciting for M! I still remember my first sleepover
.....such a fun, big step for both M and you guys.
Enjoy your lie in - after 6 years, you do deserve a bit of rest! ;)
Don't feel guilty about sleeping late tomorrow. Sounds like you guys deserve it.
Judging from my friends who have kids the 'sleepover' is a misnomer because there is no sleeping done if it's successful. And don't worry - your turn for the speepless-night-sleepover return match will probably arrive soon enough.
Hi tanna, thanks for your support. Yes, we did enjoy our lie in too.
Hi pentacular, sounds like a game of poker, bluffing, increase the stakes, it only falls apart when they call you!
Hi angela, I guess parents aren't equipped with too many tools, so we have to use whatever we can. The lie in was really nice ;)
Hi laurie, yeah, I reckon we earned it too!
Hi reb, spot on there! Apparently they were both awake until eleven. The next day her friend sacked us as parents and informed us that M was going to live with her from now on.
From what i have seen you are a superb parent, but "bad" always does have an exciting edge to it, eh? *grin. Maybe i am a drongo, but if it worked then i don't see how you lost a lever ... didn't you reinforce a rewarding achievement and an option for pre-thought? I so hope you got a lie-in!
