About Me
I'm a Melbourne boy, hailing from St Kilda with one ex, one current wife and four kids. Love the outdoors and making new discoveries. I cook a lot at home (cheers from wife) and do some preserving, mostly jams, pickles and fruit liqueurs. This is the diary of a cooking journey.

A Spanish Style Salad

Just a little housekeeping, a picture of a Spanish style salad, the subject of a previous post, that we had at our grand final barbecue on the weekend. Having a Hawthorn supporter on my right side during the telecast, means I'm a tad deaf in that ear at the moment.

For those that check out the recipe, the sharp eyed may notice that the black olives are missing, so while they did eventually make it, you'll have to just imagine how they would look if a more capable cook had been given the task of salad making!

The olives, like the Cats, were absent on Saturday. Hope the salad was more of a success on the second appearance at a Grand Final, than the pussies.

Oh I'm sure that those pesky little black olives are hiding under that glorious Manchego!
This tells me I need salad tomorrow.

Looks wonderful with all those vivid colours. And anything with manchego gets my vote...

Hi thermomixer, in the cat's defence, it can't have been too easy to score when the defence rushed 11 behinds, bet that rule gets changed before next year. The salad went down a treat, even the leftover toasted almonds were gobbled up!

Hi tanna, well spotted supergirl! It wasn't till the salad was on the table that I remembered the olives.

Hi jeanne, great cheese isn't it, we love it. It's not only the colours, the flavours and textures all work well together too.
